Castlegar boosts physician recruitment efforts

Castlegar City Council has approved a $150,000 contract for the District Chamber of Commerce to recruit Physicians.

City Manager Chris Barlow says it’s important to start the process as soon as possible.

“Doctors are looking to leave the United States and so our business is to build the ability to for them to shift, so now suddenly, that physician recruitment position is going to shift and now we are going to start to look at conferences and physicians in the States.” said Barlow.

Barlow assured council the three-year contract allows for early cancellation if they don’t see results.
