NiteHawks fall short in playoffs

Tyler Burke clinched the series for the Grand Forks Border Bruins against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks last night, with his first of two goals as he scored to give them a 3-1 lead.

After Ty Noseworthy scored the first of his two goals, the Nitehawks lost starting goalie Landan Uzeloc to injury 7:32 into the game.

He stopped the three shots he faced, then Connor Stojan stopped 25 of the 31 shots he faced.

Burke led the Border Bruins with three points and Nash Wassing had a two-goal performance, while Levi Astill collected three assists.

Eric Kahl was very good in the Border Bruins goal, stopping 19 shots.

The Border Bruins went 2-for-13 on the power-play, and 10-for-34 in the series, while the Nitehawks were 1-for-8 in the game.

The Grand Forks Border Bruins will wait to see who they’ll face off against next, as the Eddie Mountain Division continues their battle between Kimberley Dynamiters and Columbia Valley Rockies.
