The City of Rossland has it sights set on addressing infrastructure deficits in the community.
Mayor Andy Morel explains what this means for the community.
“Hopefully, within a few months we’ll have our utilities master plan which has been ongoing process for the last couple years, that’ll provide substantial information as to the infrastructure deficit and how critical it is for us to address some of those issues,” said Morel.
“It does mean that we have to financially find the money to support that those critical infrastructures and anticipate, that in the coming years, it’ll be a substantial tax on our community residential taxes that need to upgrade to continue to support the infrastructure that people rely on every day.”
Morel says Council recognizes this priority and it’ll be a top of mind for discussions going forward.
