Castlegar’s outdoor rink open for the season

Castlegar’s outdoor ice rink at the back of Kinnaird Park is now open for skating and hockey.

The rink, located at 2501 14th Avenue, is free for public use and available daily from 7am to 10 pm, with lighting provided during evening hours.

The city’s smaller rink is anticipated to open next week.

The City of Castlegar says residents are encouraged to use the rinks for skating and hockey and are reminded to be mindful of others sharing the ice. While skating chairs and walker bars are not provided, individuals are welcome to bring their own.

The outdoor rinks will remain open as long as temperatures stay below freezing.

Temporary closures may occur due to weather conditions or maintenance needs.

Before heading out, check the current rink status at castlegar.ca/rinkstatus.
