Canadians in for a tax break this Christmas

There’s a temporary tax break on the way for things including essential items, children’s clothing and restaurants.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says a two-month GST/HST break will apply across the country.

He says it will take effect on December 14 and be in place until February 15.

The move comes amid lingering affordability concerns.

The NDP announced Wednesday night that they will support the break, which requires legislation, saying that “working people are desperate for relief.”6
