The Trail Smoke Eaters have added a few prospects to their system, with Van Martin, Tucker Robertson and Gairin Michalski committing to the team for the 2025-26 season.
Van Martin
Martin is a 5’11”, 175-pound left shot forward from Raymond, New Hampshire and currently playing with the Lovell Academy 18U AAA program.
This season, Van has posted 24 goals and 38 assists for 62 points in just 30 games. He is also committed to St. Lawrence University (NCAA).
“We’re excited to welcome Van to the Smoke Eaters program. He has a high skill set, great vision, strong IQ and will definitely add offensive production to our team. Our staff looks forward to working with Van on his overall personal development and helping him to take the next step to the NCAA.” said Tim Fragle, General Manager & Head Coach.
Tucker Robertson
Robertson is a 6’0″, 175-pound left shot forward from West Kelowna, BC and is currently playing with the Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Prep team. This season with the OHA U18 Prep, Tucker has posted 12 goals and 9 assists for 21 points in just 13 games played.
“Trail has always caught my eye; they have passion, they have hockey, and they have some amazing fans. Can’t wait to start my career with them.” said Robertson
“We are thrilled to bring in Tucker to the Smoke Eaters program. He skates well, has a good overall skill set and can really shoot the puck! Our staff is excited to work with Tucker on his overall game and want to help him progress to the next level.” said Tim Fragle, General Manager & Head Coach.
Robertson currently leads the Okanagan Prep team in points.
Gairin Michalski
Michalski is a 5’10”, 175-pound right shot defenseman from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently playing with the Long Island Gulls 18U AAA program. Last season with Victory Honda 16U Gairin posted 29 goals & 37 assists for 66 points.
“We are excited to bring in Gairin to our program. He is a strong skating, offensive, puck-moving defenceman who has bite to his game. We look forward to working with Gairin on his overall development and helping him progress to the next level.” said Tim Fragle, General Manager & Head Coach.
