Arrow flow change and navigation lock closure at Hugh Keenleyside

BC Hydro are warning residents the discharge rates from Arrow Lakes Reservoir will fluctuate noticeably starting today and that safety should be your top priority when planning activities near the Columbia River.

The navigation lock at the Hugh L. Keenleyside Dam was closed as of yesterday, and will remain closed until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16.

BC Hydro says the closure is necessary to accommodate ongoing project work and apologize for the inconvenience and patience during this time.

The lock is mainly used by Zellstoff Celgar and Interfor to bring logs down the Arrow Lakes.

For up-to-date reservoir elevation and river flow information, please call BC Hydro’s toll-free number at 1-877-924-2444 or visit bchydro.com.
