Heavy snowfall warning issued for the Kootenays

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass along Highway 3.

The alert is in place from today and is expected to be in effect until Thursday evening, November 14.

Heavy snowfall of 30-50 centimetres and slippery driving conditions are expected.

Environment Canada says visibility may be reduced and that drivers should slow down, watch for tail lights and be prepared to stop.

The site shiftintowinter.ca reminds drivers to know before you go. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.
