Former Teck GM to run for Mayor

A prominent name in the Silver City has announced his intention to become the next Mayor of Trail.

Mike Martin is the chair of the Downtown opportunities and actions committee as well as the regional development committee after retiring as the General Manager of Teck Trail operations in 2011.

Martin says despite having no background in municipal politics his experience running an enterprise like Teck would benefit him.

He says if elected he would focus on continuing to develop Trail’s downtown and improving what he calls the fractured politics in the region.
