A fully engulfed structure fire at 84 Champion Road in Fruitvale Monday night, July 15,  took crews nearly two hours to get under control.

A press release from the Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue Service (KBRFR) stated that firefighters from Trail, Montrose, and Fruitvale responded to the blaze after receiving reports of it just after 9 p.m.

Crews arrived on the scene at 9:20 p.m. and worked quickly to extinguish the blaze to prevent it from spreading to nearby structures and trees, after finding that it had spread to a nearby vehicle.
