Fire crews respond to structure fire in Trail overnight

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue crews responded to a fully involved structure fire on Buckna St in Trail overnight.

Crews responded within minutes of the call coming in around 11:30pm, to find a well-alight defensive fire due to the amount of structure involved and decreased structural integrity.

Thirteen fire fighters were at the scene, from Warfield and Trail fire stations, and were able to get the blaze under control by midnight.

According to Acting Captain Kyle Boutin, the cause of the fire appears to being treated at suspicious and is under investigation.
