Drug Alert issued for Grand Forks

Interior Health has issued a drug alert for Grand Forks after several samples of cocaine tested positive for fentanyl.  

IH said overdoses have been reported and are urging cocaine users to test the drug before using.  

Fentanyl testing strips can be accessed at the Boundary Mental Health and Substance Abuse clinic located at 7441 2nd Street, or through Tanis Carson, a harm reduction worker with ANKORS.  

Carson is the only ANKORS employee located in Grand Forks full-time, if you need to access drug testing strips or any harm reduction tools, you can contact Carson via text at 250-444-0334. 

Additionally, ANKORS does mobile drug testing in Grand Forks on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Gospel Chaple, located at 7048 Donaldson Drive.  

The alert will be in effect until Mar. 26.
