Eight flights were cancelled at the West Kootenay Regional Airport in November, resulting in a 76 per cent reliability rating.
“We definitely got hurt earlier in the month with a string of cancellations,” airport manager Maciej Habrych told Castlegar city council this week.
It snapped a run this fall that saw no cancellations in October and only one cancellation in September.
Passenger loads were 55 per cent, in and out, Habrych said, adding he expects that will pick up in December.
Meanwhile, the tender for the runway rehabilitation and taxiway extension project closes Dec. 15. Habrych said they have fielded some questions from potential bidders.
