Westjet confirms new interior route

Westjet’s latest new route in our larger region is not Castlegar but the Mayor continues to hope we’re not off the carrier’s radar.

Penticton is getting direct flights to Calgary.

And Lawrence Chernoff is also not discounting Nav Canada from coming up with fixes that could yet see Air Canada deal with the unreliability factor.

The modern Q 400 plane can handle special computer navigation for lower ceiling approaches to Castlegar.

And Chernoff is also hopeful Castlegar could become a stop-over on that new Westjet Penticton to Calgary route.
