The cause of a garage fire in Trail this morning is under investigation.
Kootenay Boundary Fire and Rescue says crews were called a little after 11 a.m. to the 2100 block of 7th Avenue in Shavers Bench.
Residents attacked the fire with a garden hose before seven firefighters responded. They had things under control within an hour.
Capt. Grant Tyson said it did not spread to the adjacent house.
While no dollar value on the damage was immediately available, Tyson said the side of the building was damaged by fire and the interior suffered water damage.
