Castlegar Foundation seeks city investment

The new Community Foundation of Castlegar and District is seeking a direct injection of cash from the city.

President Bob Jackson says if they can raise between $25,000 and $50,000 in new funds over a two year period then the Columbia Basin Trust will match that.

He explains the foundation is all about building a strong nest egg.

Jackson says rural areas I and J will also be approached.

The foundation was launched with an initial investment of over $150,000 from the Kootenay Savings Credit Union.
