Castlegar man wanted after cutting off ankle monitor

Trail RCMP say they are looking for a Castlegar man wanted on a warrant who cut off his ankle monitor.

Police are asking for the public’s help finding Michael Allan Struthers, 42. They say he removed his ankle bracelet and fled on April 24.

They believe he’s in the Trail area and may be driving a blue older model Subaru with no muffler bearing BC license plate SV055S. This vehicle was last seen in the Fruitvale area on Saturday.

Struthers is six-foot-one, 180 pounds, with blue eyes, and light brown/gray hair.

Police say Struthers is known to be violent and may be in possession of weapons, so they don’t advise approaching him. They say any sightings or information on his whereabouts call be reported to the Trail detachment at 250-364-2566.

Struthers was supposed to appear in court in Rossland on April 27 on two counts of mischief to property over $5,000, alleged to have occurred in Trail on Dec. 31 and Jan. 5.
