Properties in Fruitvale and one in the neighbouring rural area are no longer on evacuation alert due to flood risk.
The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary’s emergency operations centre cancelled the alert this afternoon.
It was issued on May 6 and covered 16 properties where 36 people lived on Beaver Street, Laurier Avenue, and Main Street in Fruitvale, as well as one property with two people on Kenny Road.
The RDKB says with rising temperatures in the forecast, they continue to monitor conditions, but Beaver Creek isn’t expected to return to levels seen in early May.
