The RDKB has issued an evacuation alert for 17 properties in Fruitvale.
The alert covers 16 properties around Fruitvale Beaver Street, Laurier Avenue to Main Street an Area A Kenny Road.
According to a media release, the RDKB says last nights rainfall brought water levels higher which triggered the alert.
They say recent warm weather and increased rainfall last week also contributed to the increase in water levels around creeks and rivers.
The district is advising everyone to stay away from bodies of water because rising waters can be unpredictable.
Residents are not being asked to leave just yet, but are to prepare in the event an evacuation order is issued.
If an evacuation order is issued residents will be asked to leave immediately.
