Pedestrian accident:Councillor says community safety is paramount

A Trail city councillor is reacting to the serious accident on an East Trail intersection Tuesday night.

Two elderly pedestrians were hit by a vehicle turning at the intersection of Robertson and Second Ave and police say they believe there is very little lighting there. Weather conditions were also difficult.

Here’s Sandy Santori.

The two women who were hit are in hospital with serious injuries.

Santori adds there is often a blind spot on the vehicle frame for drivers turning left and he agrees that it is everyone’s responsibility to see and be seen.
