A couple of Rosslanders were issued roadside driving bans after being caught driving drunk.
RCMP say late Friday an officer spotted a 30-year-old man drive his pick-up truck around a corner from Highway 3B onto Columbia Avenue.
The man failed a breath test and lost his license for 90 days while his truck was impounded for up to a month.
The next night, police noticed a 35-year-old woman driving erratically in the 2200 block of Columbia Avenue.
The woman also failed a breath test.
“Notably, the woman allegedly made 16 attempts to provide a breath sample during the course of this investigation and was verbally abusive toward the officer,” police said.
She received a 90-day roadside ban as well and also had her vehicle impounded.
Police also say they have done two road safety checks this month, putting to work new flashlights and shoulder lights.
“As winter turns to spring, Trail RCMP anticipates more traffic and outdoor social activities,” Sgt. Mike Wicentowich said in a news release.
“Please make sure you plan on a sober ride home before you head out with family and friends. We would also like to thank the BC Highway Patrol for all of their efforts and enforcement recently. Together, we are keeping our roads and highway safer for everyone.”
