Five of 28 scheduled flights were cancelled at the West Kootenay Regional Airport last month, for a reliability rate of 82 per cent.
Airport manager Maciej Habrych told city council this week those cancellations mostly had to do with weather. Combined, the flights were about half full.
In January, eight of 31 flights were cancelled for a reliability rate of 74 per cent.
Since late 2021 the city has been waiting for Nav Canada and Transport Canada to approve its plan to improve airport reliability through something called an RNP system.
