RCMP say a 49-year-old Rossland man has received nearly $1,000 in tickets following a hit-and-run in the 1900 block of Columbia Avenue on Sunday morning.
Police say a witness told them a pick-up truck hit a parked car, damaging both.
The investigating officer located pieces of the truck and tire marks at the scene of the incident and found the truck parked outside a business with pieces of the car still on its bumper. He made inquiries at a business and located the driver a short distance away.
Police say the driver was co-operative. He received a $368 fine for failing to remain at the scene of an accident and a $598 fine for not having insurance.
