NHL Central Scouting has released its preliminary list of players to watch for the 2022/23 Entry Draft with Smoke Eaters defenceman Brady Smith being named to the list.
Smith, 17, is playing in his first year as a Smoke Eaters, and has been named to the NHL Central Scouting preliminary watch list as a C-list ranking, indicating a fourth, fifth or sixth round candidate.
Already committed to the University of Connecticut, the Rossland native has played all 11 games for the Smoke Eaters this season and has become an integral member of the team, but is still awaiting his first point of the season.
Smith is among 12 other BCHL players named to the early season watch list.
