Drunk driving suspected in Trail rollover

A 31-year-old Ross Spur man has lost his driver’s license for 90 days after rolling his vehicle near the intersection of Aldridge Avenue on Highway 3B in Trail.

Police say it happened late Saturday. The man provided a breath sample that resulted in a fail. His vehicle, or what was left of it, was also impounded.

RCMP say a 31-year-old Trail woman also received a 90-day roadside ban after an officer spotted her driving the wrong way on Monday evening near the intersection of Wellington Avenue and Highway 3B.

She also provided a breath sample and failed. Her vehicle was impounded too.

“The woman involved in this incident contacted the Trail RCMP and expressed her sincere regret in her actions, and acknowledged that she made a huge mistake that could have had tragic consequences,” Sgt. Mike Wicentowich said in a news release.

He said they acknowledge the apology to the community, as they are rare.

“Trail RCMP hopes this can be a learning tool for her, and others, as we all have an interest in maintaining road and public safety.”
