It happens every election, but that doesn’t make it okay.
Castlegar RCMP say they’re investigating reports of the removal of and damage to election signs throughout the area.
In a news release, Sgt. Monty Taylor said it’s a crime to remove or damage an election sign that has been lawfully placed on private or public property.
They ask you to call them if you see someone doing it or have any other information.
Taylor said he couldn’t put a number on how many signs have been damaged but said it did not appear any particular candidate had been targeted.
