Ministry of Environment sharing more about spill into Kootenay Lake

We’re getting more details about the white paint that spilled into Kootenay Lake Monday from the Nelson Curling Club.

The Ministry of Environment’s Veron Novosad says the club was draining its ice surface into a storm drain.

Novosad says a safety data sheet indicates the material that spilled isn’t hazardous and any environmental impact would be minimal.

The white paint is used to color the rink floor.
