RDCK offers wood stove rebates

Another incentive for residents to cut down on wood stove pollution and fuel costs.

The RDCK has teamed up with the Province and BC Lung Association to offer a rebate if you exchange your old unit for a new one.

You can get $350 back if you get rid of a pre-1994 wood stove and buy a modern replacement locally.

The rebate is available to the first seventy homeowners who apply.

Modern wood stoves play a large part in cutting down on local air pollution.

They emit less smoke and up to 90% fewer particulates than old models.
