Despite some doubts, Castlegar’s mayor says improved services at Trail’s airport will benefit the entire region.
Pacific Coastal says the biggest request among local passengers is flights to Kelowna – mainly to fulfil the demand to get people to medical facilities in the bigger city. That 6-day-a-week service will start in January.
Lawrence Chernoff says he is wishing the airline and airport all the success because it is something that is needed.
Chernoff claims similar services to Kelowna have been attempted in the area before but residents didn’t utilize it enough.
Pacific Coastal says they did their homework before deciding to launch the service and this is not a temporary pilot project.
