Support local forestry:Area D candidate

Local election candidate for RDCK Area D Donna Cormie is very much aware that the traditional forest industry is under threat and the local school enrollment has dwindled to just a dozen.

She says she’d work to support the sector and is meeting with the manager of the troubled Meadow Creek Mill next week.

Cormie has served previously on two separate terms on Kaslo council and is on the local Community Forest Board.

She adds the current health care system isn’t working and supports the fee-for-service model used in New Denver as a way of ensuring a return to 24/7 emergency coverage in Kaslo.
