It’s another issue in an already long list that should compel the government to shut down the proposed Jumbo Glacier Resort.
That’s the message from Nelson-Creston New Democrat MLA Michelle Mungall and her colleagues given another possible problem with the development.
This time concerns have been raised that the day lodge is being built where a huge avalanche swept down five years ago.
Mungall says now the government also has a very clear public safety reason to shut the project down.
The developers say the lodge is being built outside the high risk area and regular grooming and slope management would remove the risk of avalanche.
