Nelson aims to double Ecosave participation

Nelson has plans to double the uptake in their innovative Ecosave Energy Retrofit Program.

That’s as they add multi-family buildings to their scope after a two year pilot working with single family homeowners.

Program Co-ordinator Carmen Procter says the uptake has been impressive.


…those 107 homeowners are now saving a total of $73,000 a year on energy bills.

The program allows homeowners to borrow up to $16,000 for energy retrofits and pay that back over 5 or 10 years at a low interest rate. Nelson Hydro customers outside city limits get the same low interest deal through the Nelson District Credit Union.
