RCMP hosts public meeting tonight on de Groot incident

The RCMP is holding a community emergency management information session in Slocan Monday night following last month’s shooting of Peter de Groot.
Inspector Tom Roy says it gives residents an opportunity to ask questions of police about how they operated between October 9th and 13th.

Roy says they have had a lot of inquiries from the public since the tragic incident.

Roys says they won’t be commenting on exact details as the Independent Investigations Office is looking into the case.

De Groot was shot and killed when two special unit officers entered a cabin.
De Groot’s family claims he was “executed.”
The public session goes 6 pm at the Legion Hall.
