One of the final tasks facing the current Nelson city council is dealing with the proposed medical clinic opposite the hospital.
At Monday night’s final regular meeting before the elections they’ll decide if the re-zoning application for the two-storey building should move to the next step.
Senior staff are recommending the city hosts at least one public open house prior to a public hearing.
A group of doctors wants to build the clinic on part of three lots currently zoned as residential.
Concerns have been raised about the size of the site, traffic and parking.
The doctors say they will work closely with the neighbors to address concerns as they want to bring increased and more convenient health services to patients.
