Trail has financial concerns with Blooms Committee

It is very concerning Trail’s Communities In Bloom Committee continues to go over budget.

This from mayor Dieter Bogs who says not only is the beautification group exceeding their $110,000 annual allocation by 20% , they aren’t handing in their receipts.

Bogs says the city has to provide detailed reports on their budget under municipal law. He adds the CIB program is definitely worth it but efforts need to be made to remain out of the red.

The program has come in an average of almost $40,000 over budget each year since 2009.
