It’s another step towards a major focal point in the Silver City.
The Columbia Basin Trust has given the group behind the Victoria Street Bridge Lighting project a cheque for $50,000
That puts them over the $100,000 mark and halfway to their goal. The city of Trail says it will match the $200,000 raised.
And Jason Milne with the Downtown Opportunities and Action Committee says the city has also committed to making the whole lighting effect over the river even more spectacular.
They’re still looking for donors and it’s hoped the project can be fired up late next year.
