Forward Bryan Lubin was the overtime hero Sunday as the Castlegar Rebels edged the Golden Rockets 6-5.

Lubin scored with four minutes left in extra time after the Rebels blew a two goal third period lead.

This followed Castlegar’s 4-3 OT fall to Fernie Friday.

Meanwhile, The Nelson Leafs come out of the weekend on a four game winning streak.

Nelson were 8-6 victors against Grand Forks Friday and outshined Golden in an 8-0 blow out Saturday.

Goaltender Adam Maida says the success is coming from their work ethic and the guidance of Head Coach Dave Mclellan.

Saturday was Maida’s first shutout of the season.

In other action,

The Beaver Valley Nite Hawks split their pair of weekend outings.

The Nite Hawks were clipped by Golden 4-3 in overtime Friday but bounced back for a 2-1 win over Creston Valley Saturday.
