Blueberry Creek Community School is a huge asset to the area.
So says Castlegar mayor Lawrence Chernoff as the Kootenay Columbia School District is looking at the disposal of the facility in the near future.
Chernoff says services like this need to be in place or communities become unattractive.
The district held a public consultation session Monday night where the school’s operating society and the public asked for the facility to be sold for the nominal fee of a dollar.
The school board could come up with a recommendation for the future of the school at a meeting Monday.
