Kootenay Lake Summit:Year 2

Keeping Kootenay Lake free of boating sewage and imported invasive species were among key topics discussed at the second annual Kootenay Lake Summit in Kaslo Saturday.

Friends of Kootenay Lake program manager Claire de la Salle says zebra and quagga mussels are a potential threat.


She says effects of lake levels because of the dams, fisheries and shoreline restoration are also focus areas.

An advisory council will look at the latest summit discussions which will help form the 5 year plan for co-operative community work on sustaining the lake.
