Nelson's Sustainability Awards

Nelson will hold it’s first ever round of Sustainability Leadership Awards later this year.

Nearly $4,000 in cash will be presented to gold, silver and bronze group or individual winners.

Candace Batycki ( who spearheaded the awards along with fellow councillor Paula Kiss) says they are trying to achieve a couple of things with the awards.

Batycki says the other objective – which is the more obvious one – is to reward sustainability leadership in the community in key areas including healthy neighbourhoods, robust ecosystems, and cultural strength.

Nominations for the awards are accepted til November 3rd and the awards reception will be held December 8th.
