Chew On This:Nelson Food Cupboard launches event

Around 18 local personalities are being asked to “Chew On This.”

It’s an initiative of the Nelson Food Cupboard aimed at raising awareness about the amount of people who struggle to get by in the Queen City.

Co-ordinator Kim Charlesworth says for the next week participants can only eat what they get from the various food banks or hot meal providers in town.

Performing and fine artist Michael Graham is one of those who took up the challenge.

Cherese Guille from the credit union expects to get hungry.

Participants can’t eat anything already in their pantry or fridge-freezer.
