Candidate calls for more social housing in Nelson

The next Nelson city council needs to be more focused on the social housing needs of the city not only higher end developments.

That’s the view of Jason Peil one of the candidates for council in next month’s elections.

Peil – a survey draftsman – says council should be asking how proposed developments fit in with the affordable housing shortage in the city.


Another of Peil’s platform issues is ways to streamline the process around organising and hosting festivals in the city to boost the economy and tourism.
