New bridge superstructure cost mainly on Trail's tab

Key concerns from Rossland and Warfield appear to have been addressed in the deal with Trail on the pedestrian sewer pipe bridge.

The three regional sewer partners will chip in their proportionate share of $4.2 million to cover the sewer aspect.

Trail alone will pay the extra $5 million towards the estimated $9 million cost  as that will cover the actual aerial superstructure because that has the pedestrian component.

Here’s John MacLean- the CAO of the RDKB.

However MacLean can’t say yet if regional taxes will need to rise next year as the final price tag on the bridge isn’t known.

The extra $5 million Trail is paying will be covered by annual gas tax revenue.
