Selkirk campus turns 50

A very public celebration Wednesday for a leading local institution.

Selkirk College’s Silver King campus in Nelson’s Rosemont neighborhood is hosting a community BBQ..

They’re celebrating 50 years of the trades school.

Thousands have graduated from the campus since the 1970’s in areas including millwright/machinist, hairdressing, carpentry and welding.

There’s a wide range of community education courses as well.

The event runs from 11-30 till 1 pm.
