No concerns about escape attempts with alleged armed robber Andrew Stevenson in Nelson court Tuesday morning.
That’s because he appeared via video link from the Kamloops Corrections Centre …still using his crutches.
He’s now been charged with escaping lawful custody after dropping his crutches and attempting to flea outside Nelson court last month. A Deputy Sheriff tackled him to the ground. He’ll enter a plea October 28th.
On the wider matter of the multiple armed robberies in our region Stevenson will also face trial by judge and jury in Supreme Court. That’s because co-accused and partner Krista Kalmikoff has already elected to do that.
A preliminary hearing could take place early next year.
