Extremes highlight September weather offerings

Our September weather brought about some record stats on the hot and the cold side of things.

Local expert Ron Lakeman at the South East Fire Centre weather office says we had couple of extremes.

Two early mornings on the 11th and 12th saw temperatures at  -1.1C and -0.7C . Those are the earliest below-freezing days for September on record.

It was quite a change from the 7th when we saw a record daily high of 30.2C measured at the Castlegar Airport.

The all-time high for September is 36.8C measured in 2003.
