Nelson Police arrest impaired hit and run driver

A report of a hit and run in Nelson over the weekend led to police discovering an impaired driver had actually smashed into five parked vehicles and a couple of road signs.

The 23 year old hit the other vehicle in Fairview around midnight but his car was so damaged he didn’t get far and was quickly found in the downtown.

Meanwhile Nelson Police are reporting fifteen people were issued 90 day roadside prohibitions in July and August alone.

That’s twice as many than the same period last year.
