Deb Kozak joins Nelson mayoral race

Looks like we’ll have at least a three-horse race for mayor in Nelson.

This after Deb Kozak – who has served three terms as councillor – threw her hat in the ring.

We’ve heard criticism from the other contender Pat Severyn hat there has been a lack of a team-work ethic on council with incumbent John Dooley at the helm.

Kozak suggests healthy debate has been in short supply around the table.

She’s encouraging people in the community to run for council.

Among Kozak’s key election platforms are addressing the lack of affordable housing and adapting to climate change.
