Grand Forks is one of nine communities honoured in this year’s Open For Business Awards at the Union of BC Municipalities Convention.
The City will receive $10,000 as an incentive to promote an “open for business” culture.
Mayor Brian Taylor says they weren’t recognized for one specific project like other cities.
Taylor explains the award money will allow them to extend the life span of the plan.
The B.C Small Business Round Table was established in 2005 to be a voice for small business to government.
98% of provincial businesses are classified as small.
