Report slamming municipal spending lacks credibility:Shadrack

Local politician is joining the chorus of criticism over a leaked provincial report suggesting municipal salaries are spiraling out of control.

The report – as part of the BC Liberal’s Core Review – says local government salaries are up 38% over the last 12 years far exceeding those in provincial ministries.

Rural Kaslo director Andy Shadrack says the figures lack credibility.


And he says municipalities have been taking on more and more work because of the constant downloading or responsibilities and services by the province the last decade or more.
